Dr. Rebecca Docherty
Educational Psychologist
Dr Rebecca Docherty started her career in Education as a teacher, with experience in both mainstream and specialist provision.
She qualified as an educational psychologist in 2006 and has worked in Scottish and English local authorities, overseeing authority-wide training for teaching assistants, as well as Attachment and Nurture.
Rebecca established Psychology Foundations in 2017. She works closely with mainstream and special schools to support clear understanding of student need and implement evidence-based interventions.
Rebecca also works with families and legal professionals, providing expert witness reports for SEND tribunals and personal injury cases.
Alison Winterton
Educational Psychologist
Alison Winterton is a former teacher and an Educational Psychologist, with over 25 years experience in Education. Her professional practice has seen her work in child development with the NHS, assessing, diagnosing and supporting children with neuro-developmental difficulties such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
With expertise in supporting schools with a wide range of needs, Alison has a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting school staff and parents to meet the requirements of children and young adults with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
In 2018, Alison became an Advanced Practitioner in ‘Attention Autism’. She is part of the Advanced Practitioner Group who offer training in Attention Autism to schools, parents, and other professionals around the country.
